5 major problems with the iPhone 4S

Posted by Admin | Saturday, January 28, 2012 | , | 0 comments »

The iPhone 4S was released in the US and UK on October 14, 2011, and has been gradually launching all across the globe at different dates. In total, the iPhone 4S will be available in 100 different countries supported by 70 mobile carriers including giants like AT&T, Verizon and Sprint. In the first few months of its launch, Apple’s latest offering has done extraordinary well and continues to show the trust of the consumers in their products.

As of yet, there has been no major design flaws or hardware failures reported back with the iPhone 4S. But that does not necessarily mean that the smart phone is a piece of perfection. It definitely has its minor issues and problems. Listed below are some of the most notable complaints or user disappointments with the iPhone 4S...

Lackluster speeds on Sprint

Apple was paid a good amount of money by Sprint to get the iPhone network compatibility. But it looks like Sprint wasn’t ready to handle the load of the iPhone users. There have been complaints of slow 3G speeds within the Sprint community.

Reduced battery timings

The iPhone 4S is packed with amazing features and apps. The intelligent voice recognition software, Siri, new notifications center, iCloud and various other applications have definitely put a massive load on the battery. So it’s not really surprising that there have been issues reported with the life of its battery. Users have noted that the iPhone 4S battery life is significantly weaker than its predecessor, the iPhone 4. It looks like Apple went a bit overboard with their marketing slogans of ‘the best performing iPhone battery yet’. The battery drains most while using the Face-time feature, while Video recording comes a close second. Apple is working on the problem and has promised to fix the issue in the next major iOS update.

Siri finds it hard to catch accents

While Siri is still in beta and there is a long way to go before it can perfected, the iPhone users having a strong accent find it slightly frustrating (and sometimes pretty funny!) that the virtual assistant can’t really understand them right. Let’s say users having a Scottish or Welsh accent have found it quite difficult to make Siri do what they want them to do.

Weak screen colors

Surprisingly, the screen colors and sharpness on the iPhone 4S are much weaker than they were on the iPhone 4. Many users have expressed their disgust at this issue on the Apple’s official forums. According to them, there’s a slight greenish tint (yellow on others, particularly on the black cased units) on the screen and gives an appearance of being ‘washed out’.

So, looking at the above ‘teething’ problems with the iPhone 4S, it can be said that the smart phone is ‘not the most amazing iPhone yet’ as proudly claimed by the Apple corporation. But that being said, if the company focuses and succeeds in solving these issues by the time the next iPhone comes along, then it might just be worth the wait.

Review of Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V

Posted by Admin | Saturday, January 28, 2012 | , , , | 0 comments »

Generally speaking, the best and the most popular mobile phones have always been either the most expensive ones, or the ones that strive to offer everything that the most expensive ones do – just at a lower price. Well, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V is just this – a handset that comes at a reasonable price, while it boasts with pretty good features and specs.

However, it is still early to say whether the new Xperia will be a success or a lead balloon.

The Design and Feel of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V

Even though the handset looks great, it is just a little bulky with its 126g, especially when compared to today’s extra slim and sleek Smartphone's. There are only three physical keys located just beneath the display, which is a LED Backlit display, 3.7-inch big. This handset is reported to be well-built, and also to feel good in one’s hand, thanks to the Human Curvature design Sony has incorporated. Also, the overall design seems to be quite pleasing to the eye.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V Specs

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V runs Android’s Gingerbread operating system, and has a 1GHz Scorpion processor – which means that it will be quick enough for whatever you will be doing with it, be it taking photos or streaming videos. When it comes to the memory available, the handset features 320 MB of internal memory and 512 MB of RAM memory, and a MicroSD slot for cards up to 32 GB – which is plenty of space whatever you decide to do.

When it comes to connectivity, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V has Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, a micro USB port, GPS and an HDMI port. Aside from this, the 1500mAh battery will make sure you go through the day without having to reach for the charger.

Camera, Videos and Music Capabilities of the Xperia Neo V

With a 5 megapixel camera and a maximum photo resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels, it can be said that the Xperia Neo V will be loved by photo enthusiasts. The camera has face and smile detection, geo tagging and auto-focus. As far as videos are concerned, things could have been better, but the player in the handset will play MP4, 3GP and WMV video files. Music-wise, the Xperia Neo V is fantastic. The internal player is very good, and the phone will not leave you disappointed when you start using it. Another interesting feature is the Infinity button, which will let you know a lot about the sing you are listening to. Aside from this, radio reception is excellent, and the built-in FM radio also has a feature called TrackID – a tool that will recognize any song you are enjoying at the moment.

The Final Verdict on the Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V

All in all, the Xperia Neo V is a very good mobile phone, with a lot of great features, and it comes at a realistically affordable price. Therefore, this handset is to be given a high mark and it is recommended to all potential users.

Samsung Galaxy S III To Launched in April

Posted by Arjun Chauhan | Wednesday, January 25, 2012 | | 0 comments »

Samsung Galaxy S III is perhaps the most buzzed phone of the year after Apple iPhone 5 and why shouldn’t it be? After all it will be the direct successor of Samsung Galaxy S II – smartphone of 2011! Samsung Galaxy S III is expected to hit the wordphone market in April 2012, exactly after 1 year the launch of Samsung Galaxy S II. Samsung Galaxy S III according to a Russian source will be announced in the MWC 2012, where other similar phones from other companies are expected too.

If we go according to the features mentioned by the Russian source, who even claims that he has played with the Samsung Galaxy S III, it is having HD screen, 12MP primary camera, 1.6GHz clock speed processor, and above all – Android v4.0 (Ice-Cream Sandwich). The Russian source even further said that the phone is amazingly fast to use, but we cannot completely agree with him because his earlier predictions too have turned out to be bogus.
Whatever it may be, but if these features are really coming in Samsung Galaxy S III then no one can stop Apple iPhone 5 from facing cut-throat competition.

Samsung Star 3 Announced - Specs and Price

Posted by Arjun Chauhan | Sunday, January 22, 2012 | , , | 0 comments »
Samsung last year in May announced the features of Samsung Star 2 which gave a boost to the sales of Samsung, then came the Samsung Galaxy S 2 which just rocked the floor and even took away the title of best smartphone of the year. Samsung is trying to repeat the same story this year too, it has just announced the features of Samsung Star 3. Samsung Star 3 is having not a lot more features than the Samsung Star 2 but it is expected to bring Samsung’s smartphones in the below Rs.5,000 market and is expected to accompany Samsung Champ. Now, let’s us have a deep insight on the features of Samsung Star 3.

Memory size of Samsung Star 3 isn’t large. It’s having very small 20MB internal memory which, though, is expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. 20MB internal memory is fairly low, even the Samsung Star 2 Duos had 30MB internal memory. If Samsung Star 3 wants to touch the success sky then it should have had at least 50MB internal memory.
Form Factor
Samsung Star 3 is having  102 x 58 x 11.5 mm dimensions which clearly shows that the phone will be slightly longer, wider and sleeker than the Samsung Star 2 Duos. The weight of Samsung Star 3 too is lesser than that of Samsung Star 2. It’s 95grams while the weight of Samsung Star 2 Duos is 100grams. The display size, surprisingly, of Samsung Star 3 is 3.0inches while the display size of Samsung Star 2 is 3.2inches. Even the pixel density of Samsung Star 2 is better than that of Samsung Star 3. Samsung Star 3 is expected to have TFT capacitive touchscreen.
Data Connectivity
Data connectivity features of Samsung Star 3 are quite nice, even though it doesn’t support 3G. Samsung Star 3 supports GPRS, EDGLE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v3.0 and microUSB v2.0. Similar features are available in Samsung Star 2 Duos too which can support 2G on both of its SIMs.
Camera quality of Samsung Star 3 is nice. Samsung Star 3 is having 3.15MP primary camera with no secondary camera. It can even be used to record QCIF format videos with the speed of 15frames per second. Samsung Star Duos is having exactly same camera features.
Samsung Star 3 is just announced so it’s natural that its price will be announced at the time of its release. Samsung Star 3 is expected to come with the price tag of Rs.5,800.
Other features
Loudspeaker – Yes
3.5mm Jack – Yes
Photocall – Yes
User Interface- TouchWiz Lite UI v2.0
Battery - Standard battery, Li-Ion 1000 mAh

LG Connect 4G MS840 Announced - Specs and Price

Posted by Arjun Chauhan | Friday, January 20, 2012 | , , | 0 comments »

LG’s smartphones were considered inferior but as soon as it started pumping money in the smartphone sector which eventually led up to the launch of great smartphones from LG like LG Optimus, all people started getting attracted towards a lot. Now, LG has announced another powerful phone named as LG Connect 4G MS840, and has been launched by LG in the CES 2012. Now let’s have a deep insight in the features of LG Connect 4G MS840.

Operating System
LG Connect 4G MS840 is having the OS of the year – Android v2.3. Gingerbread is an awesome OS with amazing feature and the best part of Gingerbread is that it’s very versatile. LG Connect 4G MS840 is powered with a great OS. I would have definitely gone with LG Connect 4G MS840 if I had to purchase a small, powerful, cheap phone.
LG Connect 4G MS840 is having a dual core 1.2GHz processor which is quite fast. The processor of LG Connect 4G MS840 is very much similar to the one used in Samsung Galaxy S 2, and I don’t think SGS 2 needs any introduction. LG Connect 4G MS840’s chipset version and the GPU are yet to be revealed so hold your nerve.
Memory of LG Connect 4G MS840 is superb. It’s having 4GB internal memory with 1GB RAM. And if you find the internal memory low, you can even expand it to 32GB via microSD card which is quite amazing. ROM size is still not unveiled.
LG Connect 4G MS840 is having a 5MP primary camera, with features like autofocus LED flash, geo-tagging etc. It also supports video recording at HD quality with the speed of 30fps. LG Connect 4G MS840 is also having a VGA secondary camera. The camera quality of LG Connect 4G MS840 is somewhat nice but everything depends upon the price.
Price of LG Connect 4G MS840 is still not revealed as the phone is just announced but according to our calculations, LG Connect 4G MS840 will be priced somewhere near Rs.20,000 as its features are very much similar to that of Samsung Galaxy R which is also priced at Rs.20,000.

Review of Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus

Posted by Admin | Friday, January 20, 2012 | , , | 0 comments »

With such a wide range of excellent phones that are offered by major mobile phone companies, it has become really hard for people to select a phone for themselves. Aside from this, mobile technology is progressing rather quickly. The companies in the mobile phone industry are making great efforts to meet their users’ needs, regardless of whether these are the needs of their existing users or these are their future users and the needs they might have.

Samsung Phones

The Samsung Company has always been known for their ability to make great phones with a great price tag, but it also stands behind some of the most elegant models that are pricy. Their users, on the other hand, are not troubled by high cost of some of the models, as it seems to be justified with the quality it gives in return. One of the newest models from the Samsung Company is the Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus, and here will be given a review about this amazing phone.

The Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus Design

As it has already been mentioned, Samsung phones are known for their beautiful design and Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus is no exception. This Smartphone has a very modern design and it is somewhat smaller in size than many other mobile phones under Samsungs’ brand name. The fact that the phone is not as big as many other phones is an advantage for Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus. Its smaller size makes it easier for users to maneuver the phone. Further on, this Smartphone comes with a 3.65-inch capacitive touch screen with 16M colors. The main idea that designers had with this phone was to make it simple but elegant, which has proven to the recipe for a great-looking phone. The Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus truly does look great!

Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus Features

This phone has some standard features that make it easier for their users to use their phones, and these features include a phonebook, organizer, messaging and e-mail. As far as the phonebook of this amazing Smartphone goes, it is safe to say that the option of unlimited entries seems to be one of the greatest things in regard to phone’s features. Further on, there are features that make creating and managing contacts in your phone fairly simple, such as the option anyone from your phonebook by their first, and also by their last names. The Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus also has the option of voice dialing and voice calling.

Phone’s Memory, Video and Audio Options

Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus has a 5 megapixel camera, with white balance, smile detection, auto focus and a few other features. The phone has a music player and a YouTube player, which makes this phone ideal for anyone who is looking for great music options in a phone. It works with a single core processor and has 512MB of RAM memory. The phone can store up to 3GB of data, and this can be expanded to 32GB with a memory card.

All in all, Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus is considered to be a great phone with a middle-range price. Therefore, it is safe to say that this phone is affordable, but this has no impact on its quality whatsoever.

HTC Velocity 4G Rumored Specs - Price and Features

Posted by Arjun Chauhan | Saturday, January 14, 2012 | , | 0 comments »
HTC is expanding in India, even the HTC fever is at its peak in the juvenile. HTC started off in India a few years ago and is now a leading brand. HTC unveiled some really good phones in CES 2012. HTC Velocity 4G was expected too, but wasn't unveiled at the CES 2012 perhaps because HTC wanted it to launch it a MWC! HTC Velocity 4G’s rumored specs are out though. So, let’s have a deep insight in the features HTC Velocity 4G offers.

Operating System
Operating system of HTC Velocity 4G is expected to be Android. And to be very specific it is expected to be Android v2.3.7 (Gingerbread). Android OS is the best operating system according to me because it’s more versatile, there are hell lots of free apps for it, app quality is great, it’s a brainchild of Google, and there are hell more reasons for the same. Had I been asked to buy a smartphone, I would have definitely gone with a smartphone with Android OS.

The latest phone from Nokia was Nokia Lumia 800 (launched), and Nokia Lumia 900 (announced). Both of these phones are having 1.4GHz processor which is considered to be really good, but on the other hand HTC Velocity 4G is having an even more powerful 1.5 GHz processor. Clearly, HTC is trying to surpass Nokia in this very catalog. GPU of HTC Velocity 4G is Adreno 220.

Camera quality of HTC Velocity 4G is superb. It’s having a powerful 8MP primary camera with features like autofocus, dual-LED flash, image stabilization, face detection, instant capture etc. It having a secondary 1.3MP camera too. The video recording capability is the best. It can record full HD videos at the speed of 60fps and HD videos from secondary camera. It is an amazing phone when it comes to camera.

Memory of HTC Velocity 4G is just ideal. It having 16GB internal memory with 1GB RAM which I guess is a quite speedy combo. But if you still find it less, you can increase the memory to 32GB via microSD card.

Form Factor
The HTC Velocity 4G is rumored to be having S-LCD capacitive touchscreen with a display size of 4.5inches. Not only thing but it’s also expected to have 245ppi pixel density. The rumored user interface if HTC Sense UI v3.5. The dimensions of the phone are 126.1 x 57 x 11.3 mm. According to these dimensions, the phone is amazingly sleek! Rumored weight is 168.8grams.

As the phone is just rumored, the price is not disclosed but our team expects it to be somewhere around Rs.36,000 which will be a fair price. Its specs are better than that of Samsung Galaxy Note so its price too should be a bit more, and time also plays an important role in pricing a phone.

Other Features
EDGE – Yes
4G – LTE network on 1800 band
GPRS – Yes
Wi-Fi – Yes
Wi-Fi Hotspot – Yes
USB – microUSB v2.0
Multitouch – Yes
Battery - Standard battery, Li-Ion 1620 mAh

LG Signs A Patent Deal With Microsoft

Posted by Arjun Chauhan | Friday, January 13, 2012 | | 0 comments »
LG has decided to grow. LG’s smartphones such as LG Optimus have done an amazing job in the international phone market. Earlier, LG was considered an inferior brand but later as the technology evolved LG gained reputation in the phone market and now it holds a position where only Apple, Samsung, HTC, and Nokia have a place. LG’s smartphones are now one of the best smartphones available in the market. Taking another step forward, LG has recently signed a major agreement with the Microsoft Copropration.

According to this new patent deal, LG will be paying some money to Microsoft for every phone or tablet or any other device it will produce that will have Android or Google Chrome OS. This is not a new sort of deal, LG is the 11th company to ink this deal. HTC signed this deal back in 2010, Samsung signed this last year but the terms and conditions of the deal signed by HTC and Samsung also mentioned that these two phone companies have to help Microsoft in promotion of Windows Phone OS and even give some cash, if necessary for the betterment of the OS. Nobody knows if LG has signed same terms and conditions too.

It is well-known to people that among the four U.S. carriers for Windows Phone, AT&T seems to be Microsoft’s best associate. A Developer Summit by AT&T is going to be held on January 8 and 9 in Las Vegas, just before the kicking of f of the Consumer Electronics Show. In this year, this event is accorded with valuable sessions which will provide information’s and details about the upcoming technologies and certain opportunities to connect with the industry's top experts and professionals. This Submit has been extended to another day which adds with the Sunday Hackathon and a registration reception. Finally, an unforgettable evening at Rock at Rain with a private concert is scheduled once all the sessions are over.

The Developer Submit is planned with various sessions, purposes and device showcases, which are discussed below.

The Developer Submit is scheduled with a Windows 8 tablet session which has planned to bring Snapdragon-powered Windows 8 tablets to the spotlight as these tablets works on 4G LTE wireless networks. The majority of these sessions won't please the fancy of daily consumers but there is an “A Metro Style Hemi”, which is scheduled as an afternoon session which would showcase Windows 8 tablet powered by a Qualcomm with many chips.

The speakers are Jon Sharp of AT&T and who is a member of a third-party development managing team for all types of devices such as USB data cards, netbooks, notebooks and tablets. Lauren Thorpe, who is the senior director for Qualcomm developers’ relations, will also speak in this mega event. But, as a matter of fact, no speaker has been listed from Microsoft for this Windows 8 tablet session but t its purpose clearly seems to show how AT&T and Microsoft are working together to make developing connected applications easier.

Hence, this Developer Summit hopes to bring change in this relationship and may have something to do with carriers which would offer Windows 8 tablets to customers who sign a data plan contract and may have something to do with the Windows 8 functionalities such as device sharing which is one of the targeted categories. There are no details available on the fact that Win-8 physical unit will be on hand with an active LTE radio. One should know that Microsoft has started taking steps for these issues and is contacting with the carrier about hosting such devices. Moreover, it is expected that Win8-based tablets would be available in addition with LTE if AT&T has already got one in its lab for testing. This hope of the addition of LTE to Win-8 tablets may increase the price the range of the device. Therefore, The AT&T Developer Submit 2012 is going to be something really amazing and a must-attend conference providing the latest technologies and developer tips.

This is a guest post by iDev Blogs team. One of their blogs is Price in India where they cover prices of all gadgets, including mobile price in India.

AT&T To Launch Tweaked Samsung Galaxy Note in CES 2012?

Posted by Arjun Chauhan | Wednesday, January 11, 2012 | , | 0 comments »
Samsung Galaxy Note is an amazing phone but it doesn’t seem to be perfect to the AT&T team. So, they have decided to do some tampering with it and make it better – that’s what they call it. AT&T has decided to launch the Samsung Galaxy Note in United States by this February. They are going to launch their tweaked version of Samsung Galaxy Note in CES 2012, Vegas. The tweaked version of Samsung Galaxy Note is expected to have the intermediate front design of Samsung Galaxy Note and Samsung Galaxy S 2.

Samsung Galaxy Note is already having the largest ever smartphone display, that is 5.3inches with the amazing resolution of 1280x800 pixels. The current version of Samsung Galaxy Note is having Android v2.3 (Gingerbread). Another amazing feature of Samsung Galaxy Note is its LTE network support, though LTE is not available in India currently but it’s expected to be made available to public this year. If AT&T’s team will launch it in CES 2012 then we can expect it to hit the United States phone market by 14th February and if it will hit the US phone market by that date, then we can expect it to be launched in countries like Britain, Germany etc.

Nokia Lumia 900 is having amazing features too, not amazing but fairly better features than Nokia Lumia 800. Samsung is already on fire. It has already announced two awesome smartphones. Now, it seems that Sony Ericsson is having some hidden plans this year. It is all set to launch the whole new Sony Ericsson Nozomi, but don’t get too excited. These all are just the rumors. The official news is that Sony Ericsson has updated its official Google Plus profile with the following message. “Something big is coming! Stay tuned for some exciting news next week”. Sony Ericsson Nozomi is the phone which has been constantly buzzed in the news for quite a long time and it’s expected that Sony Ericsson has finally made up the mood to launch it in the CES, Consumer Electric Show, which is scheduled to be held in Las Vegas from Jan 10 to Jan 13.

Motorola is on fire and you take my words, this year Motorola will give highest level of competition to Samsung, Apple, HTC and other big daddies of the phone market. Motorola Motoluxe is the latest phone in the list of smartphones released by Motorola. The phone is amazing and is having features somewhat similar to that of Nokia Lumia 800 except the processor, which is miserably slow in case of Motorola Motoluxe. Now let’s have a deep insight of the features of Motorola Motoluxe. So here it goes –

Operating System

What else can it be? Yes, you are right. It’s Android! Motorola Motoluxe is powered with Android v2.3.7 (Gingerbread). Motorola Motoluxe is surely having an awesome operating system. I think, it’s better than any other OS if the user is a non-European or a non-American because in Europe and America, iOS is the best. They have better assistant, support, large community etc.

Processor of Motorola Motoluxe is amazingly slow. Motorola Motoluxe is having an 800MHz processor with Qualcomm MSM7227A-0 chipset and Adreno 200 graphic processor unit (GPU). The clock speed only is slow in case of Motorola Motoluxe while the GPU quality is perfect.
Camera Quality

Camera quality is superb. Motorola Motoluxe is having a 8MP primary camera with LED flash, autofocus etc. It also has a secondary VGA camera which makes it possible for you to take your own snaps without flipping over the phone. We can also use it to make videos but the quality at which we can do is yet to be unveiled.

The internal memory is not announced yet but the confirmed things are that Motorola Motoluxe is having 1GB ROM, which is amazingly high, and to load it faster we have 512MB RAM embedded in it. The expandable memory of Motorola Motoluxe is 32GB via microSD card.

Motorola Motoluxe is having a powerful Standard battery, Li-Ion 1400 mAh battery which keeps it running for up to 450 h (2G) on standby and up to 400 h (3G). And when it comes to talk-time it keeps it running for up to 6 h 30 min (2G) and up to 4 h 30 min (3G). It’s quite obvious that the battery power is awesome.
